One BEAUTIFUL pair of Handmade Leather Slobber Straps
It doesn't take a trained eye to see these slobber straps are a cut above most of what is being offered out there.
~ Handmade by Dick McCoy (in his 80's now and doing very limited work)
~ Premium Wickett & Craig vegetable tanned leather
~ Superb Sheridan style floral tooling!
~ Hand rubbed edges
~ Antique stain on medium oil
Dick offers a lifetime of talent and experience in these beautiful straps. I've had one of the top saddle makers in the U.S. send me a message to say that Dick's work should be priced at the top end of the spectrum....but that isn't what Dick wants. He loves to see his work getting used by the regular working cowboy.

These striking 2-tone straps are carved with the Sheridan style of floral carving. The Sheridan style is famous for the 3 dimensional flower and circular flowing leaves & vines.
The high quality leather is supple & soft and the scallop shape is very refined. All the edges are hand rubbed for a smooth feel. The background is carefully hand-dyed to achieve that amazing 2-tone look.
Length: 15 3/4" (7 1/2" folded)
Width: 2 1/8" at widest point
Width: 1 3/8" at fold
Hole: 5/8" plus slot for added flexibility
Slobber straps attach the reins to the bit and act like a hinge. Because of the weight of the leather, they pick up slowly to give the horse a pre-signal that you're about to make contact, and they release quickly to give the horse an instant reward when he does the right thing.
